Delivery Information

Delivery Information

Fencing Supplies London delivers fencing, timber, concrete products and landscaping materials throughout London, Essex and surrounding counties.

Most orders are delivered using our own fleet of delivery vehicles, allowing us to deliver directly to residential properties, trade customers and commercial sites throughout our delivery area.

This policy explains how our delivery service works, including delivery areas, delivery charges, kerbside delivery, access requirements and what to do if there is an issue with your order.

Delivery Areas

Delivery charges are calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery postcode and order value.

Our delivery area is split into postcode zones. Areas closer to our depot will usually have lower delivery charges, while areas further away may have higher charges due to the additional distance, fuel, driver time and route planning required.

If your postcode is not accepted at checkout, please contact us before placing your order. We may still be able to provide a delivery quotation depending on the order size, delivery location and availability of a suitable delivery route.

Standard and Extended Delivery Areas

Zones 1 to 7 cover our main delivery area.

Zones 8 to 10 cover extended-distance delivery areas. Due to the additional distance from our depot, free delivery is not available within Zones 8, 9 or 10.

A minimum order value of £200 including VAT applies to Zones 8 to 10.

Contact Us

If you are unsure whether we deliver to your area, or if your address has access restrictions, please contact us before placing your order.

Our team will be happy to confirm whether delivery is possible and advise you of any special delivery requirements.

Order Changes After Purchase

Please check your order carefully before completing checkout.

Once an order has been placed, we may be unable to add, remove or change items on the order. If you require additional products after placing your order, a separate order may need to be placed.

Delivery addresses cannot normally be changed once an order has entered our picking, preparation or delivery process. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address, contact details and order details are correct before payment is made.

If you notice an error after placing your order, please contact us as soon as possible. While we will always try to help where possible, changes cannot be guaranteed.

Delivery Lead Times

We aim to deliver orders as quickly and efficiently as possible. Delivery lead times can vary depending on stock availability, order size, product type, delivery postcode, seasonal demand, route planning, supplier availability, weather and road conditions.

Most orders are scheduled once the goods have been picked, prepared and allocated to a suitable delivery route.

If your order contains items that are out of stock, made to order, supplied directly from a manufacturer or requires additional preparation, delivery may take longer.

Any delivery dates or timeframes shown on our website are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Delivery Scheduling

Once your order is ready for dispatch, our team will schedule delivery based on the next available route to your area.

Where possible, we will try to accommodate preferred delivery dates, but this cannot always be guaranteed. Larger orders, bulky products and extended-distance deliveries may require additional planning.

Deliveries usually take place between 6:30am and 7:00pm.

Due to traffic, weather, route changes and other circumstances outside our control, we are unable to guarantee an exact delivery time.

Delivered by Our Own Fleet

Most fencing, timber, concrete and landscaping orders are delivered using our own 3.5-tonne dropside delivery vehicles.

Using our own vehicles allows us to deliver directly to residential properties, trade customers and commercial sites. However, customers must ensure that the delivery address is suitable for this type of vehicle.

Please contact us before placing your order if your address has restricted access or may be difficult for a delivery vehicle to reach.

Vehicle Access Requirements

Before placing your order, please make sure suitable access is available for our delivery vehicles.

You must inform us before delivery if there are any access restrictions, including:

  • Narrow roads
  • Low bridges
  • Weight restrictions
  • Parking restrictions
  • Red routes
  • Private or unmade roads
  • Gated entrances
  • Overhanging trees
  • Steep or unsuitable driveways
  • Limited turning space
  • Roads unsuitable for delivery vehicles

If access is unsafe, unsuitable or restricted, our driver may be unable to complete the delivery.

If a delivery cannot be completed because we were not made aware of access restrictions, a redelivery charge may apply.

Kerbside Delivery

All deliveries are made on a kerbside delivery basis.

This means our driver will unload your order to the nearest safe and reasonably accessible location at the delivery address. This will usually be a driveway, front garden or another suitable area close to the roadside.

For health and safety reasons, our drivers cannot carry materials:

  • Through houses or buildings
  • Through side gates or narrow access routes
  • Over walls or fences
  • Into rear gardens
  • Up or down steps
  • Across long distances
  • To the final installation location

The final unloading location is at the driver’s discretion and will depend on vehicle access, product weight, ground conditions, available space and safety at the property.

Heavy and Bulky Products

Many of our products are large, heavy or awkward to handle. These include fence panels, concrete fence posts, concrete gravel boards, timber posts, railway sleepers, bulk timber, post mix and landscaping materials.

Our drivers will unload your order where it is safe and practical to do so.

For large, heavy or bulky orders, we may require a suitable person to be present at the delivery address to assist with unloading. If we confirm that assistance is required, the customer must ensure that the agreed person is available at the time of delivery.

If assistance has been agreed or is required and nobody is available to help unload when our driver arrives, we may refuse delivery on safety grounds.

Where delivery is refused or cannot be completed because the agreed unloading assistance is unavailable, the customer may be charged a failed delivery fee of up to 20% of the order value, together with an additional delivery charge for redelivery.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that sufficient space is available to receive and store the goods safely once delivered.

If Nobody Is Home

Where it is safe to do so, deliveries may be completed without anyone present at the property.

If nobody is present, our driver may leave the goods in a safe and suitable location at the delivery address.

Once the goods have been delivered, responsibility for the order passes to the customer.

If there is nowhere safe to leave the goods, access is blocked or the delivery cannot be completed, a redelivery charge may apply.

Proof of Delivery

We may use delivery photographs, signed delivery notes, vehicle tracking records and driver records as proof of successful delivery.

Delivery photographs may be taken to confirm where the goods were left.

Failed Deliveries

A delivery may fail if:

  • The delivery address is incorrect
  • Access is unsafe or unsuitable
  • The road is blocked
  • Suitable parking is unavailable
  • Nobody is present where attendance is required
  • The customer refuses delivery
  • We were not informed of access restrictions
  • The location is unsuitable for unloading

If a delivery fails due to an issue outside our control, a redelivery charge may apply.

Delivery Restrictions

We may be unable to deliver to locations that are unsafe, unsuitable or not clearly accessible by our delivery vehicles.

This may include fields, allotments, unmade roads, car parks, construction areas without safe access, addresses with no safe unloading point or locations with restricted vehicle access.

If you are unsure whether your address is suitable for delivery, please contact us before placing your order.

Delivery Delays

We work hard to complete deliveries on the agreed day wherever possible. However, delivery dates and times are estimates only.

Deliveries may be delayed due to traffic, severe weather, road closures, vehicle breakdowns, supplier delays, stock shortages, staff shortages, high seasonal demand or other circumstances outside our control.

We recommend that customers do not book installers, landscapers or other tradespeople until their goods have arrived and have been checked.

Fencing Supplies London cannot accept responsibility for costs, losses or delays caused by tradespeople, installers or other third parties being booked before the goods have been delivered and inspected.

Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Goods

Please inspect your goods as soon as possible after delivery.

Any damaged, missing or incorrect items must be reported to us within 48 hours of receipt.

When reporting an issue, please provide:

  • Your order number
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Photographs where relevant
  • Details of any missing or incorrect items

We may be unable to resolve issues reported after this period if the goods have been moved, installed, used, cut, altered or stored incorrectly.

Split Deliveries

Some orders may be delivered in more than one delivery.

This may happen where:

  • Items are being supplied from different stock locations
  • Products are supplied directly from a manufacturer
  • Part of the order is temporarily out of stock
  • The order is too large for one delivery vehicle
  • Products require separate handling

Where an order is split, items may arrive on different days.

Collection Orders

Collection orders are separate from delivery orders.

You will be notified when your order is ready for collection. Please do not travel to collect your order until you have received confirmation that it is ready.

Customers collecting goods are responsible for bringing a suitable vehicle and ensuring that the load is safely secured before leaving our premises.

Fencing Supplies London reserves the right to refuse loading where we believe that the vehicle is unsuitable or the goods cannot be transported safely.
