Choosing the Right Concrete Fence Post

Use intermediate posts between panels along a straight fence run. End posts are designed for the point where the fence terminates, while corner posts are used where the boundary changes direction.

Concrete 3 way posts are used where three fence runs meet at one central point. They feature three slotted sides, making them suitable for garden divisions, neighbouring boundaries and other layouts where fencing branches in three directions.

Check the slot arrangement carefully before ordering to ensure the post matches its intended position. Choose a post length that allows for the panel height, the chosen gravel board and sufficient depth below ground.

Concrete posts are heavy, so consider access and safe handling before installation. More than one person or suitable lifting equipment may be required depending on the post size and site conditions.

Installation

Install each post vertically and accurately spaced using a suitable post-mix concrete. The hole depth and width should reflect the post length, ground conditions, fence height and exposure of the location.

Allow the post-mix to set correctly before installing heavy panels. Check for underground pipes, cables and drainage before digging, and use appropriate lifting and protective equipment when handling concrete products.
