Choosing the Right Feather Edge Boards

Choose the board length according to the required finished fence height. Remember to allow for the position of the gravel board, ground clearance and any trimming required during installation.

Check the board thickness, width and treatment before ordering. Heavier-duty boards may be more suitable for exposed locations or projects requiring a more substantial finished fence.

Calculate the quantity required using the total fence length and the intended overlap between boards. Include an allowance for cuts, damaged pieces and site adjustments.

Installation and Care

Fix feather edge boards vertically to suitable horizontal rails using exterior-grade galvanised nails or screws. Keep the overlap consistent throughout the fence run to maintain privacy and an even appearance.
